This program is funded by Start Strong Pathways, NSW Dept of Education. We provide community playgroups to be more inclusive of all children and families who are geographical isolated living on rural/remote properties, especially those with additional needs, with a disability or from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

An inclusive approach is one that values all individuals, ensuring everyone feels a sense of belonging and has equal access to all experiences. At playgroup we recognise that all children and families benefit from play, regardless of the background, culture or ability of each individual.
Being “included” at playgroup is more than just being physically present: it is making sure all children and their carers are involved in the playing and forming relationships.
Inclusive early childhood experiences benefit all children and families – those with additional needs and those without. At Cobar Mobile Children’s Services Inc, we recognise the strengths and skills of every individual, learning from each other and building relationships to develop a supportive community.
Welcoming & Friendly
All children from 0-3 years, siblings and their parents and caregivers will receive a warm and friendly welcome at a Cobar Mobile Children’s Services Inc playgroup.
During a two-hour playgroup session, carers and children participate in a variety of play activities, organised by qualified staff who attend the group.
Playgroups are in community facilities through the country, in rural, regional and metropolitan areas. There is a yearly membership charge and then a low cost session fee to cover resources. The importance of membership is to provide us valuable information on your child and help sustain our ongoing funding. We encourage all members to participate in the volunteer committee. Meetings usually held once per school term.

What is a Playgroup?
Playgroup is for babies and young children and their mums, dads, grandparents, caregivers and extended family. It is unique in that adults attend with their children.
Cobar Mobile Children’s Services Inc playgroups have been running for over 40 years. Families from many different backgrounds and children of all abilities attend our playgroup: it’s a great way for your child to learn about the world, make friends and develop social skills. It also gives you a chance to share experiences with others on the same parental journey.
